Knockout Round

Well, Uruguay's Suarez secured their place in the quarterfinals awaiting the winner of the second game of the day between the US and Ghana. Uruguay packed it deep after their first goal and seemed to try and hold on as SK had more chances and finally broke through. A piece of beauty by Suarez on his second goal after wasteful attempts has this team destined for future glory. South America continues to destroy with all five teams qualifying and advancing to the knockout phase.

I'm not surprised by ANY team that qualified. The only question that I have is actually Ghana and Japan. Every other team has the credentials and the ability to win the cup. Still be interesting.

Italy Sucks. Just letting you know if you hadn't figured it out already.

For the US, they need to score first. Badly, Ghana packs it in and will play for 0-0. They are extremely wasteful in front of net, and find scoring hard to come by only scoring 2 penalties, this team has yet to score in play. I look for the US midfield to be the key point in this game. US need Donovan(obviously) and Bradley to have great games, not good. Check the live blog for more details.

1/1 so far picking Uruguay. Going with the US today. Win or go home.
